1. Observation - Learn to see                    page 2 of 2

On our trip to Germany we spent a day in the pretty city of Leipzig where we
saw this pretty church that happened to be the final resting place of the
famous composer Johann Sebastian Bach.

Unfortunately the church was being repaired and was surrounded by vans
and ugly fencing (Fig. A). It would have been a shame to only take one picture
and after looking around I noticed the flowers in front of the church and had an
idea on how to take another one.

Making sure there were no signs stopping me from walking on the grass I
then knelt down holding the camera behind the flowers pointing it up at the
church. The result was Fig. B. It was a bit of guess work but with a digital
camera you can take a couple of pictures and look at them straight away
to see if you've got the picture you want.

I think it came out rather well, don't you?
