Silhouettes can make fun and creative photographs. By placing the setting sun
behind an object you can turn it into a silhouette. Be creative and find lots of
different and strange things to make a silhouette.
Fig. A was also taken on the beach in Naples, Florida. The palms frongs and
the rocks on the shoreline are in silhouette but picked up the hint of an orange
glow from the seting sun.
Fig. B was taken at Alton Towers in Staffordshire, England. Not only does this
medieval tower look stunning and powerful against the sun but the sun's rays
bursting through really give this picture another dimension.
Remember NEVER look directly into the sun even through your camera as it
can damage your eyes! ALWAYS position it slightly off centre.
